London - Arabstoday

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has revealed he is ready to discuss the possibility of a new contract at Emirates Stadium with the club. The Gunners have said farewell to several key players in recent months, with Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy all departing over the summer. But 22-year-old Walcott, who is out of contract at the end of next season, says he wants to sit down and talk about his future with the North Londoners. He said: "I will listen to what Arsenal have to say."Hopefully we will sit down with the club soon and talk things over."After a rocky start to the season, Arsenal's Premier League campaign has begun to look more promising, with Arsene Wenger's men having won three of their last five games.Walcott insists spirits in the Gunners camp are high as they look to put their poor start behind them, with a visit of Stoke looming on Sunday."The team morale at Arsenal is great - the best it's ever been," he added."To be honest, we have forgotten about the first few games. There is no point in dwelling on it."All we can do now is look at what is coming up. And it is looking very positive at the moment. Everyone needs to be alive at what is going on during the game."The England winger was encouraged by Arsenal's last-gasp victory at Marseille in the UEFA Champions League in midweek which lifted them to the top of Group F.And he hopes the Gunners' progress on the continent can inspire confidence in their domestic game as they look to build on their current 11th place in the standings. Solid"In the Champions League, you want to at least draw the away games, but we managed to sneak it in the end," he said."We were very solid at the back and we need to do that more often - dig deep and win games 1-0. It was nice to see that in Marseille."Now, hopefully, we can start climbing the Premier League."
