Three Sudanese Red Crescent workers were killed by gunmen after having handed out humanitarian relief in Sudan's southeastern Blue Nile state.
The incident was fiercely condemned as "inexcusable" by a Sudanese non-government aid organisation.
Sudan's Humanitarian Aid and Development Organisation, in a statement quoted by its spokesperson Ahmad Mohammad Adam, said that the killing counters the teachings of Islam and Sudanese and international principles.
He expressed his commiseration to the families of the deceased, whom he hailed as "martyrs."
