Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, will participate in the BRICS Summit 2017, which will be opened by the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, in Xiamen, China, Middle East News Agency (MENA) announced.
El-Sisi’s visit is at the invitation of the Chinese President to take part in the Summit of BRICS countries, including China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.

BRICS has grown into an important platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries. Together, BRICS countries account for 26.46% of world land area, 42.58% of world population, According to IMF’s estimates, BRICS countries generated 22.53% of the world GDP in 2015 and have contributed more than 50% of world economic growth during the last 10 years.

Following the BRICS Summit, the Egyptian President will head to Hanoi on an official visit to Vietnam, the first of its kind in the history of relations between the two countries.

According to Egypt’s Presidency, el-Sisi will hold meetings with senior Vietnamese officials to discuss bilateral relations and ways to bolster them in various fields.
