A shallow magnitude-3.2 earthquake was reported early Friday near The Geysers, a complex of geothermal power plants in northern California, officials said.The earthquake occurred at 2:59 a.m. PST at a 1.2 mile depth, the U.S. Geological Survey said.The epicenter was 3 miles from The Geysers and 7 miles from Cobb, Calif.The USGS said The Geysers is located within the Clear Lake volcanic field and "activities associated with the withdrawal of steam for producing electric power can cause or induce small quakes to occur."
