A 5.8-magnitude earthquake rocked Peru's capital Lima at 15:06 local time (20:06 GMT) on Monday, Peru's Geophysical Institute (PGI) reported. The PGI said no deaths or material damages have been reported so far., The epicenter of the earthquake which was first reported to be of 5.6-magnitude, was located 29 kilometers north of San Vicente de Canete in the province of Canete south of Lima, at a depth of 60 km. Residents in Lima, who have taken part in several earthquake drills this year, reacted with alarm, spilling into the streets and gathering at parks or other open spaces to avoid danger.
