An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale occurred late Saturday in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Yemen's southern port city of Aden, the Yemeni defence ministry reported on Sunday, citing a statement by the country's earthquake monitoring center. The earthquake hit the center area of the Gulf of Aden at 12:00 p.m. local time, with the depth of its epicenter about 13 km, according to the Yemeni National Center for Monitoring Earthquakes and Volcanoes. "There is no threat because the earthquake was far away in the sea. So far, no victims and damage have been reported," it said.
