An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted a northern part of northwest China''s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, , according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). No casualties have been reported in the sparsely-populated region, China''s News Agency (Xinhua) reported.
The epicenter, with a depth of 4 km, was determined to be at 44.3 degrees north latitude and 82.7 degrees east longitude
