A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck off southwest of Jayapura, Indonesia, on Wednesday, according to the Meteorological Department.
The epicentre of the quake was 378 km of Irian Jaya, southwest of Jayapura, and 2401km southeast of Semporna, Sabah. The department said the quake did not trigger a tsunami.
