An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Pakistan's southwestern town of Dalbandin on Sunday, local meteorological department said. According to the report, the quake was felt at 11:08 a.m. ( local time) in Dalbandin area, a sparsely-populated town located in the country's southwestern province of Balochistan. The epicenter of the earthquake rested at 230 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital of Quetta at a depth of 124 kilometers. The quake created panic among people, but no loss of life or property was reported, according to the initial reports. Dalbandin lies in the earthquake-prone zone of the country. In January 2011, an earthquake measuring 7.2 magnitude on the Richter scale struck the area in which several people died from panic.
