6.2-magnitude quake hits 21km SSE of Paracas, Peru

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted 21km south southeast of Paracas, Peru at 08:59:20 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey, monitored here, said. The epicenter, with a depth of 9.85 km, was initially determined to be at 14.0563 degrees south latitude and 76.2263 degrees west longtitude.
