The Environment Department of Dubai Municipality is holding a series of activities to mark World Water Day. The day itself took place on Thursday when the nine days of events began. "This year a number of activities will be conducted for nine days starting from 22 March in the main building of Municipality, DAFZA, RTA and Family Forum in Al Khawaneej," said Hamdan Khalifa Al Shair, Director of the Environment Department. "The activities will be kicked of with the launch of a mobile awareness exhibition. "The exhibition is aimed at introducing the efforts of Municipality in protecting the water and monitoring water quality in addition to the initiatives of private sector companies in the field of water usage rationalisation." Al Shair said the objective of World Water Day was to focus international attention on the pressure on global supply.
