African environment ministers call for fighting animal poaching

African environment ministers in a Cairo meeting called for putting an end to animal poaching in the continent.
The ministers urged Egyptian Environment Minister Khalid Fahmy, who was chosen as president of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), to draft a strategy to end illegal trade in animals.
AMCEN was established in 1985 to strengthen cooperation among African governments on economic, technical and scientific activities.
