A massive boulder slid down a hill in Ohio crushing a family's car and garage, but no one was injured, the residents of the home said. Tim and Diane Pfaff said they heard what sounded like a hailstorm and a loud boom late Tuesday as they were about to go to bed, the Athens (Ohio) Messenger reported Wednesday. "I think I was dozing off a little bit then there was that loud boom," Diane Pfaff said. "My first thought, in terms of what would be familiar, was an electrical … lightning storm hit a transformer and you get that boom and it goes out. We had recently had hail so it sounded like a massive sudden hail storm." The front door was blocked by pieces of the large rock that broke off, but the Pfaffs were able to get out through the back door. They said they've had rock slides before, but nothing as big as the boulder that landed in their yard Tuesday. "We've had rock slides before that were small that just put some basketball-size rocks in the street and they're loud just because of hitting the trees and stuff," Tim Pfaff told the Messenger. "But obviously, I wasn't expecting to see that." Tim Pfaff said the most important thing was that no one was injured, including their son and his friends who were in the house at the time.
