Some Canadians had to deal with up to 8 inches of snow on the ground Easter Sunday, meteorologists said. The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported the snow spread across New Brunswick with Moncton receiving about 8 inches, Charlottetown got 5 and Bathurst got about 4. Nova Scotia got about 1 1/2 to 6 inches. Environment Canada forecast up to 10 inches for the Gaspe Peninsula by Sunday night, the CBC said. The spring snow storm was causing slippery conditions on some roads and flights were delayed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, the network said. Scattered power outages were reported and some churches in the region canceled their Easter services. The storm forced a police dive team to discontinue its search for a fisherman missing and presumed drowned on a Nova Scotia lake, the CBC said.
