Typhoon Maysak in Ulithi
Beijing - XINHUA

China is to offer aid to typhoon-ravaged Micronesia, the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday.
China is assessing needs and will arrange reconstruction assistance and support accordingly, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
Super typhoon Maysak swept through Micronesia's Chuuk and Yap states last week, killing at least nine people and causing extensive damage.
Both Chuuk and Yap are under a state of emergency as efforts to assess the scale of damage continue.
