The Environment Public Authority (EPA) Monday announced that EQUATE petrochemicals company and MP Ali Al-Omair won GCC environmental initiative awards for 2009-2010, selected by the award panel and approved by GCC Secretary General and Chief of the Award Judges Panel Abdellatif Al-ZayyaniEPA Public Relations and Environment Awareness Director Khalid Al-Enizi told KUNA EQUATE was awarded as best industrial body in terms of commitment to environment standards for 2009-2010. The MP was meanwhile named personality with the most environment awareness presence.The awards would be presented to the winners at a later point in time, said GCC Assistant Secretary General for Man and Environment Affairs Abdullah bin Oklah.Other individual winners this year are Dr. Abdelrahman Sultan Al-Sharhan of the UAE, CEO of the Saudi Environment Society Prince Nawaf bin Nasser bin Abdelaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Chairman of the Omani Environment Society Dr. Mahdi bin Ahmad Jaafar, and Mhanna Rashid Al-Maaadheed of Qatar.As for corporations, other winners are Neopharma of the UAE, Agas Lubes lubricants recycling company of Bahrain, Saudi Aramco's Shaiba unit, Future Pipe Industries of Oman, and RasGas of Qatar.
