A UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) delegation got insight into the work of the research stations of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority as part of efforts to bolster joint cooperation in areas of agricultural research and water scarcity issues.
Dr. Mohammed Al Hamadi, acting Executive Director for Development Sector, briefed the visiting UN delegation on achievements made by the ADFCA in the fields agricultural development, animal wealth, food safety and on-going research projects on green house farming, Integrated Pest Control (IPC), use of treated wastewater in agriculture, animal production and honey bee breeding.
The FAO delegation took a tour of the date palm and citrus farms, nursery, honey bee production unit and the state-of-the-art crop protection laboratory.
The delegation marvelled at the advanced progress the ADFCA's research stations have reached.
