Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani joined hundreds of volunteers cleaning up Kabul to mark the World Environment Day and appreciate their contributions to the cleaning of the city, Khaama Press reported Friday.

Hundreds of citizens and municipality workers gathered on the eve of world Environment Day to clean the city.

The World Environment Day's theme this year is “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.”

The World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise global awareness and encourage worldwide awareness and action for the environment.
