The Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries has re-settled a sea turtle of a rare species in its maritime habitat two months after treating it of a deep injury.
PAAFR said, in a statement released on Thursday, that the turtle is one of the rare and most endangered species of the green turtles. It had been scooped up by a patrol for marine surveilance as it was floating astray off the southern coast of the country.
Kuwait devoutes special attention to various species of marine turtles, mostly living around the country's islands.
Relevant authorities were alarmed recently with graphic pictures of a group of unknown persons slitting throat of a captured turtle. They renewed warning that such an act is punishable by law.
