Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour
Amman - MENA

Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour left for Sweden on an official visit during which he will take part in the World Water week Conference, which will kick off Monday in Stockholm.

At the opening session, Ensour will review the water situation and challenges in the Kingdom, focusing on the impact of the influx of the Syrian refugees on this sector and its infrastructure, Petra News Agency reported on Sunday.

On the sidelines of the conference, the premier, who is accompanied by Minister of Water and Irrigation Hazem Al Nasser, will meet with his Swedish counterpart Stefan Leuven and a number of officials to discuss means of enhancing bilateral ties and joint cooperation.

The World Water Week in Stockholm is an annual event that focuses on current global water issues, and is organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

This year's meeting is held under the theme "World for Development" where experts, practitioners, business innovators and young professionals from a wide range of sectors and countries are coming together to exchange ideas, stimulate innovative thinking and develop solutions to water-related challenges.

Over 2,500 participants from 120 countries, representing governments, private sector representatives and civil society organizations will discuss ways to shape joint solutions to global water challenges.
