Northern region states of Malaysia also felt tremors of the earthquake which shook parts of Indonesia Wednesday. People in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak felt the tremors, a Bernama report said today, citing Malaysian Meteorological Department. The moderate earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, rocked northern Sumatera at 7.41 am, it said in a statement. The department said the epicentre of the quake was 100km north of Langsa, Indonesia, and 233km southwest of Langkawi, Kedah. In Penang, the tremors were felt particularly by office workers at the 65-storey Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak in George Town.
