A minor earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Myanmar's northernmost Kachin state Sunday morning, according to Nay Pyi Taw Hydrology and Meteorology Department. The epicenter was determined at about 392 kilometers north of Mandalay and 72 km west of Myitgyina. With a depth of 28 km, the quake happened at 3:14 a.m. local time, the sources said. So far, there is no report of casualties and damages to properties as the quake lies in less-populated mountainous areas, experts said.
