You can now go back to parking your car by sending an SMS, the Muscat Municipality announced on Wednesday in an online statement.
Paying for parking by text message had been suspended since Sunday, officials said, but services have been resumed.
Due to the threat of the ransomware virus attack, Muscat Municipality had announced that drivers will temporarily be unable to pay for parking using text messages. "As part of the precautionary measures against the risk of the virus, the parking reservation service by SMS has been suspended," a statement on Tuesday read.
Drivers can pay for parking using text messages, by sending their plate number, plate code and number of minutes required to 90091.
