There was a decline of 3.1 per cent in the Sultanate's temperatures with the average temperature being 27.8 centigrade. March 2016 recorded the highest rainfall with the Governorate of South Al Batinah registering 104.7 millimetres. The average temperature in 2015 was highest with 28.7 centigrade compared to the years from 2012 to 2016.
The climate statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) pointed out that the high temperature in 2016 summer was 37 centigrade and the low temperature during the same season was 26.3 centigrade compared to 29.5 and 19 centigrade for the high and low temperatures respectively in 2016 winter.
The change of temperatures during the years from 2012 to 2016 ranged between 0.4 per cent in 2012, 4.1 per cent in 2013 and 1.8 per cent in 2014.
The average humidity recorded in 2016 summer stood at 52.3 per cent compared at 53.4 per cent during summer compared with 44.7 per cent and 52.2 per cent during 2015 summer and winter respectively.
