Nepal's quake
Kathmandu - XINHUA

Many people in earthquake-hit Kathmandu have been moving back to their houses from makeshift tents as fear for aftershocks subsided.

Local English newspaper the Kathmandu Post reported on Saturday that sense of security is rising in Nepal's capital as no major tremor occurred over the past couple of days.

Thousands of residents whose houses were completely devastated in the catastrophe, however, are still staying in tents and vehicles at night, according to the newspaper.

Living outside is risky as occasional rains, poor food supply and sanitation have been posing threat.

Nearly 1 million people have been brought back to their villages from the capital by government-arranged vehicles, reports said.

The 7.9-magnitude quake has claimed 6,659 lives and demolished hundreds of thousands of houses as yet.
