His Majesty the King's Personal Representative and Supreme Council for Environment President Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa today chaired the first environment council meeting. At the outset of the meeting Shaikh Abdullah expressed his pride for His Majesty's trust in issuing the royal decree related to the forming of the Supreme Environment Council that comes from His Majesty's vision related to the importance of this sector. He also indicated that the objective of forming this council was to tackle current challenges and the basis of achieving development targets. Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the presence of civic community establishments with the participation of the President of Environment Friends Society Khawla Al Mohannadi as this sector has become more and more important for all categories in society. Meanwhile, during the meeting the mechanisms and various duties of the council were reviewed towards better coordinating all efforts exerted in the environment field.
