Heavy snow continuing since yesterday in Northern Turkey blocked the roads, cutting off access to remote locations in the area. Teams with plows, trucks and blowers are working to open the roads, said a local official in the province of Rize. The amount of snowfall is measured as high as 50 cm in higher parts of province while it was as much as 1m around Ovit Crossing in Rize.
