Temperatures are expected to drop in most parts of the country over the next three days as the cold wave still lingers, China's meteorological authorities said Sunday. Temperatures in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next three days, while parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northeast China and areas along the Yangtze and Huai rivers will see temperatures down by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement on its website. Some of these regions may see temperatures plunge by more than 10 degrees Celsius, the statement said. Light to moderate snow is forecast for areas of Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and northeast China, while some parts of Liaoning and Jilin provinces will be hit by heavy snow over the next three days. Meanwhile, the statement said strong winds will sweep across the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea during the same period.
