Hawaii is under a tsunami warning after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake rocked an island off the west coast of Canada late Saturday night. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center originally said there was no tsunami threat to Hawaii, but then issued the warning late Saturday. It remains in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday and a small craft advisory is in effect until Sunday morning. Officials are estimating a wave between 3-6 feet for certain locations in Hawaii. The center says the first tsunami wave could hit the islands by about 10:30 p.m. local time. In addition, the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says parts of coastal Oregon and northern California have been placed under a tsunami advisory. The alerts came after the U.S. Geological Survey said the 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit in the Queen Charlotte Islands area Saturday night.
