Two women arrested in Tennessee on animal cruelty charges operated a well-known dog boarding facility in California, an official in that state says. John Keisler, acting manager of the Long Beach (Calif.) Animal Care Services office said Bonnie Sheehan, 55, and Panel A. King-McCracken, 59, adopted hundreds of dogs and were well-regarded, the Los Angeles Times reported. Earlier this week a Tennessee state trooper arrested the two women after pulling their rented truck over just east of Memphis. The truck that had 107 dogs inside and was pulling a minivan containing another 21 dogs. The women were charged with 128 counts of animal cruelty. Keisler said the two left California Sunday and were headed to Virginia to conduct dog auctions. Before they left his office received three complaints about their dog boarding facility, he said.
