The administration of the U.A.E. Project to Assist Pakistan, U.A.E. PAP, has begun implementing the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the orders of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, with the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, for the distribution of 40,000 food baskets and 7,100 tents to families affected by the seasonal floods which hit parts of Pakistan last week, killing 280 people, injuring around 500 others and negatively affecting more than 1.9 million people.
In a statement released yesterday, the U.A.E. PAP administration said that the move reflects the U.A.E. leaderships' humanitarian commitment to providing support and alleviating the suffering of those facing disaster.
The statement also said that the aid distribution was carried out with the help of the Pakistani Army and National Disaster Management Authority in Pakistan.
