The Vietnam International Agriculture Fair 2014 kicked off in the southern Mekong delta Can Tho City on Wednesday, attracting more than 300 domestic and foreign exhibitors.
More than 450 booths are showcasing products related to all aspects of fruit and vegetable farming running from modern machinery and equipment to high quality plant varieties, according to organizers.
There are also latest technical innovations in food processors and household utensils on display, according to Le Thi Kim Thu, director of the Can Tho International Exhibition and Fair Centre, co-organizer of the event.
Sideline activities in the fair, which is scheduled to run through Dec. 16, include a series of seminars on issues related to agricultural productivity and post-harvest technologies aimed at creating favourable conditions for scientists and farmers to share experiences in production.
The event will offer an opportunity for farmers and agriculture- related enterprises to introduce their products, seek partners, expand trade promotion and bolster export of agro-fisheries products to the international market, according to organizers.
