The 4th National Art Photography Festival, bringing together the works of fourteen Algerian photographers from different generations around the theme “Childhood fragments,” kicked off Saturday in Algiers and will run till March 8. Professional and amateur photographers are exhibiting, at the National Public Modern and Contemporary Museum of Algiers (MaMa), about sixty colorful and black and white photographs in which the world of childhood is highlighted through compositions and snapshots taken in several regions of Algeria. These artists, press and amateur photographers, explore the particular world of children through the beauty of their behaviors in front of the camera and highlight Algeria’s beautiful traditions and places through privileged moments of the citizens’ daily life. The event’s organizers decided to pay tribute to late photographers including Mohamed Abdelaziz who glorified before his death, in December 2013, childhood in colored photographs taken in Tamanrasset.
