Saudi Embassy and diplomatic missions in Pakistan and students in the Saudi school in Islamabad participated in an annual cultural festival organized by the Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday. The Saudi section highlighted the Kingdom’s notable cultural features and the progress achieved in various sectors of life under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. The section also displayed King Abdullah’s photos, replicas of Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and a number of heritage artifacts from different parts of the Kingdom. The section also displayed different copies of the Holy Qur’an. Another attractive item at the show was the display of exotic Saudi cuisines. Booklets available at the event gave an insight into the Kingdom’s generous help to Pakistan when it was hit by natural calamities such as floods and earthquakes. Saudi children also performed items based on Saudi folklore. The event also gave an opportunity for the Saudi children to express their joy at the recovery of the king after the recent surgery, said Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadir. “Saudi residents in Pakistan make use of every opportunity they get to express their happiness they feel about the king’s good health,” the ambassador said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency. The ambassador also prayed for the king’s long life and good health and prosperity of the Kingdom. The ambassador’s wife Al-Jouhara bint Abdullah Al-Oraifi opened the Saudi section.
