Encouraged by the success of the inaugural India Festival last year, the India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi (ISC) have managed to rope in support from the Government of India and have announced a bigger edition starting on February 2. "We had nearly 25,000 visitors last year, and this year we hope to touch the 30,000 mark for the three-day India Festival," said Ramesh V. Panicker, the president of ISC. "The Government of India is joining with ISC in making India Festival an enchanting cultural experience for the community. "The Cultural Wing of Indian Embassy, through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations in New Delhi, will send three reputed cultural troupes — Gujarati folklore, Qawwali and a Shehnai group — to make this year's Festival more attractive," Panicker added.
