Soka Gakkai International-Gulf (SGI-Gulf) in association with Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City will host the second edition of the poetry symposium under the banner, "Poetic Heart: Connecting Humanity 2013" on 14th February 2013 with eminent poets delivering their poetry on world peace, universal harmony and protection of the environment. The event will be graced by a distinguished gathering of seven renowned poets who will share their poetry. The poets include: Dr. Daisaku Ikeda (Japan)- represented by Dr. Akash Keiji Ouchi, Mr. Habib Al Sayegh (UAE), Prof. Francesca Corrao (Italy), Dr. Qais Ghanem (Canada), Ms. Silvana Salmanpour (Iran), Mr. Talil Al Sabiri (UAE) and Mr. Chemmanam Chacko (India). The poems will be recited in a plethora of languages: Arabic, English, Japanese, Italian, Farsi and Malayalam. The agenda will comprise of the poets reciting their enriching and thought-provoking creations. This will be followed by enthralling musical performances by Dr. Nizar Ghanem with his Oudh and Mr. Jason Carter on his unique Harp-guitar. Dr. Shihab Ghanem, an eminent Emirati poet and this year's winner of the Tagore Peace Award and Mr. Sami Yusuf, an eminent singer, lyricist, composer and producer will be the Special Guests of Honour. The audience in attendance will also be highly esteemed dignitaries, local delegates and many others including the students from various schools and colleges.
