The first Einstein exhibition was held in Bern, Switzerland in 2005 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the theory of general relativity developed by Einstein, said Jakob Messerli, curator of the Historisches Museum Bern. Jakob Messerli said to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland, an Einstein exhibition was held in Beijing in May, 2010. The exhibition has been also held in Guangzhou and Hong Kong respectively, and Wuhan is the fourth and the last place in China. As part of the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Wuhan, Paul Einstein, the great-grandson of Albert Einstein, performed a musical play, "The Story of Giovanni Pippistrelli," created by himself.
