Sharjah-based Kalimat Publishing House, the award-winning publisher of quality Arabic children's books, will launch 18 new books in a variety of genres at this year's Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which is taking place at the Expo Centre Sharjah from 7-17 November 2012. Kalimat will also be hosting a number of activities - including book signings and reading sessions during the 10-day event, which is a major attraction for book lovers from across the UAE and around the world. According to Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and CEO of Kalimat Publishing House, participation in SIBF has been instrumental in Kalimat's efforts to establish its presence on the Arab and global publishing scene, "The Sharjah International Book Fair provides us with the perfect platform to showcase Kalimat's current successes, and our vision for the future as a progressive and innovative publisher. We are excited to be taking part in this year's event. Kalimat will be making the most of this opportunity as part of its ongoing campaign to encourage a love of reading in Arabic amongst the children of the UAE." She added, "This year our participation is particularly exciting as Kalimat will be celebrating its 5th anniversary at SIBF. We have had a remarkable and successful five years, and we are now ready to move onto the next big chapter of Kalimat's existence. It is going to be a busy but exciting time." Sheikha Bodour also thanked the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Sharjah Islamic Bank for their highly valued support as the sponsors of Kalimat's participation in this year's book fair. The book launching will include a list of new titles for children aged between 2 and 9 years. With a portfolio of internationally acclaimed authors and illustrators, Kalimat's extensive range of books highlights traditional Arabic culture alongside the modern challenges faced by today's children, with the aim of imparting a life-long love of reading and Arabic literature to Arab children.
