H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, this evening honoured the top three winners of the 2nd Islamic chanting contest for juniors ''Sharjah Junior Munshid' in a ceremony hosted by the Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC).
Eight finalists out 450 contestants were qualified for the final audition during which the best three aspiring vocal talents were selected as winners of the contest.
The three winners are: Monakshi Kumar of GEMS Millennium School - Sharjah, Shahad Saeed Abdullah of Altalaa School and Nahyan Ali Mohammed of Abdul Rahman Al Nasser Model School in Kalba.
Sheikh Sultan congratulated them for their impressive performance.
''Sharjah is proud to have such an elite of gifted junior voices who sing in the love of Allah and eulogise Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and noble morals,'' HH said.
The audience of Sheikhs, directors of local TV and radio stations, senior officials and a crowd of fans watched a short documentary about different stages of the contest.
