El-Cabina bookstore in Alexandria will host historian and political analyst Sherif Younis on Friday, 13 April at 7:00pm, to discuss his newly released book Nida’ Al-Sha’b, (The Call of the People) which takes a critical look at the 1952 Revolution. He will also talk about his views on the current political landscape of Egypt, including drafting the constitution and the upcoming presidential elections in May. Sherif Younis is a history professor at Helwan University. He has authored several books including Massarat Al-Thawra (Paths of the Revolution), Sayed Kotb wa Alosolya Al-Islamiya (Sayed Kotb and Islamic Fundamentalism) and Al-Zahf Al-Moqaddas: Mozaharat Al-Tanahy wa Ebadat Abdennaser (The Sacred March: The Step Down Protests and Worshipping Abdel Naser).
