President Hassan Rouhani left Tehran for Hanoi early Wednesday on a two-day official visit to Vietnam.
The president was officially seen off at Mehrabad Airport by the senior advisor to the Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati, Vice President Is’haq Jahangiri, and some other cabinet ministers.
Several high-ranking Iranian officials including Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati, Chief of Staff of Presidential Office Mohammad Nahavandian and Governor of Iran’s Central Bank Valiollah Seif are accompanying president Rouhani during the visit.
President Rouhani and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang will take part in a joint meeting attended by high-ranking officials of the two countries to confer on the ways to expand bilateral ties.
From Vietnam, President Rouhani will embark on a visit to Thailand to attend the 2nd Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit.
The second ACD Summit will be held in Bangkok from October 8-10.
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) is an inter-governmental organization created June 18, 2002 to promote Asian cooperation at a continental level and to help integrate separate regional organizations such as ASEAN, SAARC, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the EAEU
