Nesa’ min al midan (Women From the Square) by Iman Beibars, Cairo: Akhbar Al-Youm, 2011. Women From the Square, a new book by Iman Beibars, activist and head of the Association for the Development and Enhancement of Women, documents the significant role played by women during the January 25 Revolution. The book illustrates the different forms through which women took part in demonstrations in Tahrir Square as well as in other locations of uprising throughout the country. Beibars showcases the activist woman, as well as the mother encouraging her children to take part in political life despite the dangers. The interviews were documented with the intention of reminding women of the great example they set for generations to come.
