Online tyre ordering, available through seat.co.uk, simplifies the process of getting a new set of tyres by bringing everything together in one place. With a database that covers all makes and sizes of tyre, the innovative web tool scores over 3,000 of them on a monthly basis, rating them for price, fuel economy, wet grip, stopping distance and noise. Using this information, the tool recommends a selection of suitable tyres for any customer that inputs their car details into the system. This selection can then be refined in a number of ways, including by make and price or by any of the EU labelling properties of fuel economy, wet grip or exterior noise. It means a tyre change can be arranged online, from the comfort of the home or office; all a customer need do is type in their car registration, and the system will do the rest. An all-inclusive cost of each set of tyres is shown, meaning that there are no hidden charges for the customer – it includes fitting, valves, balancing, disposal of old tyres and, of course, the price of the tyres themselves. Ordering is then as simple as a few clicks. And despite the simplicity of this service, and the reassurance of main dealer service and fitting, SEAT’s online tyre service is extremely good value. Prices begin at around £40, and currently a Michelin Energy Saver suitable for a SEAT Mii costs £59 fitted, and inclusive of all the above. A minor service for any SEAT from three- to 15 years old costs just £129 including VAT, parts and labour, while a major service is £249 – and both come with 12 months of SEAT Roadside Assistance absolutely free, when booked online.
