Abu dhabi - WAM

Abu Dhabi Festival has announced that the UAE Theatre Circle kicked off on 26th February as part of the Abu Dhabi Festival, with the aim of developing skills of young aspiring Arab actors.

The theatre training course was led by Dr. Habib Ghuloom Al Attar, leading actor of stage and screen and Director of Culture and Community Activities at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. The UAE Theatre Circle is hosted by twofour54 Creative Lab.

Developed by the Abu Dhabi Music and Art Foundation, ADMAF, the second UAE Theatre Circle will take place during Abu Dhabi Festival 2017, concluding on 16th March. This year, the programme is being led by renowned UAE theatre practitioners Dr. Al Attar, Abeer Wakil and Mahmoud Abu Al Abbas. The three-week theatre training course will mentor gifted, young Emirati and Arab actors in improvisation, voice, movement and character development.

This year’s Abu Dhabi Festival will deliver community and education initiatives across the UAE. Most are open to the public, including "Let Them Come" (film screening), "The Art of Nature" (visual arts exhibition), "Ministry Of Science: The World Is One Classroom" (science through theatre), the Amis High School Honour Choir Festival, and "Picture This!" (art workshops for children with autism), among others.
