The award-giving ceremony of the Avini Resistance Book Festival announced winners during an event held at the Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR). The ceremony took place in the presence of Basij Organization Commander Brigadier Mohammadreza Naqdi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Cultural Affairs Bahman Dorri and secretary of the festival Behruz Esbati. The books were chosen from among 350 books selected out of 1300 submitted works competing in six different categories, Esbati said. Documented literature, poetry, fiction, art books, criticism and research, as well as soft war were the six categories in which the books were competing, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Tuesday. In the soft war section, the first prize went to “Power and Soft War from Theory to Action” by Hojjatollah Moradi. In the documented literature, the books “Pasyad, the Son of Sand” by Mohammad Qobadi, and “Dezli Headquarters” by Hasan Rezaii Kheirabadi shared the first award. The first prize of the research and criticism section went to “The Reflection of the Islamic Revolution on the Shia of Lebanon” by Mehdi Zaheri. The poetry section award went to “Misunderstanding” by Ali Davudi. Several books were honored in the art books section including “Journey to Insanity” by Abdorreza Faridzadeh in play section and “International Competition of Gaza Cartoon” by Masud Shojaei Tabatabaii in cartoon section. No first prize winner was chosen in the fiction section.
