A one-week Chinese art festival will be kicked off next week in Bahrain in an effort to boost ties between Manama and Beijing. Hosted by the Chinese embassy in Bahrain, the festival will showcase Suxiu, one of the four major Chinese embroidery styles, and other Chinese embroidery masterpieces. A folk dance troupe, Little White Egret, will feature an exotic dance art of Chinese ethnical minority groups in South Fujian province. Xinjiang folk songs and dances as well as Shaolin Kung Fu will also be performed during the event, which is to be held as part of the celebrations for Manama being named Arab Capital of Culture 2012.
