The Abu Dhabi International Environment Film Festival has launched a competition titled “Environment films from the UAE”. The competition aims to encourage filmmakers to produce films that raise awareness about issues pertaining to the environment, and the importance of preserving it. Prizes valued at Dh240,000 will be contested over three categories: short and normal length animations, documentaries or narrative, amateur short film, and best script. Mohammad Mounir, Head of the Festival, said that the deadline for submitting the films is March 30. He said that the winning script in the best script category will be produced by the festival and receive a production budget of Dh200,000.
