Hala February Festival will kick off here Thursday under the slogan "Humanitarian Leader" in recognition of the title given to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by the United Nations (UN), member of Higher Organizing Committee and Chairman of Media committee for the festival Waleed Al-Saqabi, said on Wednesday.
In statements to KUNA, he added that the festival's Higher Committee decided to dedicate its year's edition to celebrate the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir in order to enhance patriotism.
A host of diverse events will be held including poetry and religious seminars, concerts, sports activities, besides others, he said.
The festival will also witness daily prizes of cars and cash money, and at the top of them KD 40,000 grand prize in a drawing lot, he said.
The festival higher committee will also honor Sheikha Suad Al-Sabah in gratitude to her leading role in encouraging youth for literary, scientific, and artistic creativity, as well as the great care she offers to children in the Arab world, Al-Saqabi affirmed.
Hala February festival will be launched in January 8, and will last till February the 28th, while the annual accompanying carnival will kick off in January 16.
