A festival combining technology, digital art and music is landing in Dubai on October 14 and running until October 19.
The event is the work of Micro Mutek.ae, presented by Gitex Future Stars and will feature during the annual Gitex Technology Week.
A dome called ‘Hemisphere 141’ will welcome audio-visual and experimental performances from October 14-17 at Dubai World Trade Centre, and will wrap up with an evening performance by music composers Sote and Tarik Barri. Digi Lab, running in parallel to Hemisphere 141, will host free to attend workshops with UK music producer A Guy Called Gerald, but requires prior registration online.
Meanwhile, at Stereo Arcade, A Guy Called Gerald, American artist Aurora Hall and Canadian artist Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts will perform on October 18. Japanese producer and DJ Kuniyuki Takahashi will perform on October 19. Tickets are set to release online soon.
Finally, an event dubbed A/Visions will take place on October 19 at Dubai Knowledge Park Amphitheatre, where Italian performance artist Michela Pelusio will mix light, matter, sound and space to craft a magical atmosphere.
Mutek was formed in 2000 in Montreal in an effort to promote electronic music and digital arts. The arts and culture festival runs for five days a year in Canada, but has also held events worldwide, including in the UAE.
