Phase 1 of a City Walk was opened in Sur, an official from the developer said.

“The City Walk comprises children’s play areas, bowling and billiard games and food courts,” Yasser Al Alawi, Managing Director of Al Sharqiya Real Estate Development and Investment, said.

The City Walk, which is part of Sur Gate project, was inaugurated by Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Additionally, an agreement for expansion of the Sur Gate project was signed and foundation stone was laid to commence construction work for a shopping centre.

The project is developed by Al Sharqiya Real Estate Development and Investment in cooperation with Shumookh Investment and Services – the investment arm of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).

Eng. Musallam Al Hudaifi, General Manager of Shumookh Investment and Services, said that signing an agreement to implement the expansion of City Walk project and laying the foundation stone for Lulu Hypermarket represent the continuity of the projects implemented by Shumookh Investment and Services.

“The cost of developing the City Walk and Lulu Hypermarket exceed OMR10 million,” Al Hudaifi said.

The Sur Gate project covers an area exceeding 200,000 square meters and it is strategically located at the entrance of Sur, located in Sur Industrial Estate, which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates.
